EOCO invites Mahama’s elder brother Peter Mahama over his quarry business

29781967The Upper East regional branch of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) has invited Mr Peter Mahama, a senior brother of former President John Dramani Mahama to furnish it with all documents covering his quarry business.

Credible information gathered by The aL-hAJJ indicate that the state investigative body has tasked Mr Peter Mahama to make available all documents on the quarry by 10: am on Thursday, April 11, 2017.

Though the former President’s senior brother’s quarry is located at Arigo in the Walewale district of the Northern region, the invitation was issued by Upper East regional branch of EOCO.
Confirming the invitation to this paper, a source close to the former President’s brother said, Mr Peter Mahama has been asked to supply all documents on his tax payments, workers’ SSNIT contributions and contracts executed by his company so far.

Mr Peter Mahama joins the long list of persons closer to the outgone NDC administration, who are on daily basis being invited by the EOCO to “help” in investigations. There is however, growing concern among Ghanaians over how the Akufo-Addo government since taking office, has been harassing the Mahama family and persons closed to his administration.

Sources at seat of government say Mr Peter Mahama’s invitation is part of the Akufo-Addo government’s elaborate agenda to go “fishing” for evidence in order to nail associates of the former president.

The state spy agency has for some time now been on the neck of a junior brother of Mr John Mahama and Chief Executive of Engineers and Planners, Mr Ibrahim Mahama over nonpayment of port duties on equipment imported by two of his companies.

Before he could comply with EOCO’s directive to pay all arrears owed the state, SSNIT also issued a writ at an Accra circuit against Mr Ibrahim Mahama himself, his company E&P, and one of his Directors, Suleiman Ahmed Aminu. But he has again paid all the arrears owed SSNIT.

Early this year, The aL-hAJJ revealed how the Akufo-Addo government was aggressively shopping for “evidence” to nail family members and associates of immediate past President, Mr John Dramani Mahama.

Government, the paper reported, had tasked the various state intelligence agencies, particularly EOCO to conduct forensic investigations into business activities of some persons with links to the former first family.

So far, EOCO, according to pro-NPP media house, Daily Guide, has invited some persons close to former President Mahama including Ali Seidu, Seidu Agongo, Kofi Job, Dr Stephen Opuni and Ibrahim Mahama. As at press time yesterday, the state spy agency has also invited former Chief Executive of MASLOC, Mrs Sedinam Tamkloe Attionu for questioning.

Mr Peter Mahama, The aL-hAJJ has gathered, adds to the tall list of associates and appointees of Mr Mahama the Akufo-Addo government has earmarked for investigation by EOCO and other state agencies.
