1114201690703_6984147367947_5021216563725The Chinese government has offered to build an interchange in Tamale in the Northern Region.

It will be the first interchange to be constructed in the northern part of Ghana.

The Vice President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia made this known to journalist Sunday when he arrived from an official visit to China.

He however failed to give details of the cost of the interchange and when construction is expected to start except for the fact that the construction was part of the $15 billion grant funding by the Chinese government.

“We’ve also agreed to construct an interchange at Point 7 in Tamale which is going to be the first interchange in the three northern regions. This is by way of grant funding,” he said.

Dr Bawumia also noted that the Chinese government had agreed to assist in constructing some 90 bridges across the country.
