Under the new procedure for the acquisition of driver’s license, applicants could receive their licenses within three to four weeks.
Applicants of drivers license whose documents had been approved and their license are ready, would be given a call before the delivery date.
Mr Kwesi Agyemang Busia, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Driver and Vehicles Licensing Authority (DVLA), said this at his first meeting with the staff at the Koforidua office.
He said the new procedure for the acquisition of driver’s license is expected to reduce the time and challenges that people who apply for driver’s license go through.
Mr Busia said the new procedure is also expected to help reduce the issue of fraud and exploitation of people in the acquisition of the driver’s license.
The new CEO said his vision is to help improve upon the service, raise public confidence and improve upon the image of the Authority.
He said his vision is also to help build a strong human resource management department that could help staff to plan their progression and development in the service and create a transparent system for the appreciation of hard work.
He said his visit was to interact with the staff of the Authority at their work places to learn at first hand their challenges and suggestions for the development of the Authority.
