The Prempeh College quiz team that won the 2017 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) last week, has revealed that “the uncommon favour of God made us stand out” from the other competitors.
Appearing for a personality radio interview on Accra based Starr FM Wednesday night, the contestants, Wonder Sarfo-Ansah and Daniel Osei Badu said they entered the competition fearless.
When host of the show Bola Ray asked them if they were worried about any of the competing schools going into the competition, Daniel Osei Badu said: “we weren’t worried about any school but at the same time, we were worried about all the schools.”
Asked again if they were under pressure from the media hype and the interest from old students associations, Wonder Sarfo-Ansah said: “The only pressure we felt was the pressure to live up to the expectation of the school and our parents.”
“We were expecting to win because we were so confident that, with God we could accomplished everything. We saw from our previous contest that indeed God was working towards a certain point, so we were expecting him to give us the victory,” Daniel said.
Wonder Sarfo-Ansah, whose father was part of the 1996 team that won the NSMQ competition for Prempeh College for the first time said his father was living his dream through him, “he is living his dream through me,” he said.
They revealed they have made many friends on Facebook since winning the competition. Wonder for instance said he has reached the 5000 maximum and can no longer accept friend request on Facebook.
