Police Service: 7 promoted COPs, 31 DCOPs


President Nana Akufo-Addo, on the recommendations of the Police Council, has promoted seven new Commissioners and 31 new Deputy Commissioners in the Ghana Police Service.

Seven Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCOP) have been promoted to the rank of Commissioners of Police (COP).
Similarly, 31 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) also made it to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCOP). 
All promotions took effect from July 1, 2017.
The seven newly promoted Commissioners are COP Mr Akuribah Yaagy, COP Rev David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin, COP Mr Charles Kpapu Torkor and COP Mr Maxwell Sakipasgo Atingane. The rest are COP Mr Bright Oduro, COP Osabarima Oware Asare Pinkro III and COP Mr Isaac Ken Yeboah.
Three women made the list of the 31 newly promoted Deputy Commissioners of Police. They are DCOP Sabina Osei Bonsu, DCOP Elizabeth Apollonia Dassah, and DCOP Dr Helen Tettey.
Their male counterparts include DCOP Mr Anthony Tennyson Aidoo, DCOP Mr Alphonse Mark Adu-Amankwa, DCOP Mr George Alex Mensah, DCOP Mr Patrick Adusei Sarpong, DCOP Mr Godfred Owusu-Boateng, DCOP Mr Samuel Monney, DCOP Mr Kwadwo Boapea Otchere, DCOP Mr Kwame Barima Akyeampong, and DCOP Mr Timothy Bonga Yoosa.
Others are DCOP Mr Emmanuel Bossoh Ansong (Jnr), DCOP Mr Edward Oduro-Kwarteng, DCOP Mr John Owiredu-Nkansah, DCOP Mr Kofi Dwumfour Berchie, DCOP Nana Asomah Hinneh, DCOP Mr Edward Johnson Oyirifi-Akrofi, DCOP Mr Osei Kwaku Ampofo-Duku, DCOP Mr Francis Ebenezer Doku, DCOP Mr Emmanuel Djan-Kyere, and DCOP Mr Enoch Adutwum Bediako.
The rest are DCOP Mr Emmanuel Appiah, DCOP Mr Okyere Anane-Danquah, DCOP Mr Kwaku Boadu-Peprah, DCOP Mr Frederick Adu Anim, DCOP Dr Christian Boamah-Mensah, DCOP Mr Daniel Kwame Afriyie, DCOP Dr Samuel Otu-Nyarko, DCOP Dr Francis Jude Thaddeus Kojo Brenyah, and DCOP Mr Patrick Atampugre Akolgo.
