158 entries for Westwood Movie Awards: 6 rejected

Organizers of the Westwood Movie Awards have revealed that they received a total of 158 entries for the awards of which 6 were rejected amounting to 152 entries which would be considered for the awards.

According to the Organizers, the 6 were rejected based on the rule that any member of the award’s work would not be nominated. Even though some of the 6 rejected were not direct works of the organizers, they (organizers) played major roles in those productions resulting in their disqualifications.

Slated for 16th December, 2017 at Akroma Plaza, the much anticipated Westwood Movie Awards will consider awarding works from Kumawood as well, Organizers told www.233times.net.

Amongst the criteria for sieving entries for the Westwood Movie Awards included good storyline (content), good sound, good pictures, good editing/graphics, best performance(s), etc. The purpose of this awards is to honour hardworking filmmakers in Western Region, to challenge upcoming filmmakers to produce good content, to motivate young talents, to promote the Western Region and to unite all filmmakers in the Western Region.

Members of the awards board include Chelsea Sey of Paragon FM, Mr Odoom, Mr. Yaw Afrifa, Douglas Botwe and Agya Ampaabeng of Westline Entertainment, organizers of Western Music Awards.
