The Portuguese star’s incredible revenue came from the player’s salary – estimated at a stunning £440k a-week, his sponsorship endorsements and bonuses.
The 32-year-old pipped rival Lionel Messi to first place with the Argentine pocketing £65m for the calendar year according to Forbes.
The next footballer to appear on the list is Messi’s Barcelona team-mate Neymar who was ranked 21st with £30m with Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrohimovic earning £29.7m.
