The struggles of a ‘born one’ woman – Joselyn Dumas recounts

Media personality and screen goddess Joselyn Dumas comes off as a hardworking, easy-going and classy personality.

She has often been in the news because of her body which turns heads to her direction and tongues wagging.

With such a well-endowed woman, it assumed and expected that she would bag many proposals from men in a day. But Ms. Dumas has disclosed that that is not so in her case.

According to her, she is finding it hard to catch a soul mate at age thirty-seven.

One reason being that she already has a child, commonly called ‘Born One’ in the local parlance.

Joselyn made this revelation on her new TV show ‘Keeping It Real With Joselyn Dumas’ on GHOne over the weekend.

She narrated how she had at a point in time fallen deeply in love with one of her suitors.

However, just when her hope of settling down with her ‘love’ was soaring high; she received news that shattered her marriage dreams with him.

He told her that he couldn’t get married to her because she already has a child, Ms. Dumas said. In our part of the world, ‘born ones’ are ridiculed. A woman is not spared castigation from the society for having a child out of wedlock.

For Joselyn Dumas, her love life has been ruined.

She further stated that being a single mother has not been easy. But the close bond she shares with her daughter has been her motivation.

And for the lesson learnt, Joselyn said before beginning any new relationship, she informs the partner that she is already a mother of one. This, she said, would save her from heartbreak.

Josely Dumas was a TV host with former Viasat One television station before joining GHOne to host her new show. She has starred in movies such as ‘Adams Apples’ ‘A sting in a tale’, ‘Family ties’ and others.
