Over 15,000 people attend Kofi Kinaata’s ‘Made in Taadi Concert’ (PHOTOS/VIDEOS)

The much anticipated ‘Made in Taadi Concert’ headlined by multiple award winning Artiste Kofi Kinaata came off last Saturday 23rd December, 2017 at the Jubilee Grounds in Takoradi with over 15,000 attendees.

The event which was selected by fans of Kinaata on social media chose the free concert over dinner with them and a song as a Christmas present from the Effiakuma bred Artiste.

Security

A total of thirty (30) armed military men safeguarded the venue for the maiden edition of the concert. Arguably one of the events in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis to be safeguarded against operational crises, the Made in Taadi Concert is tagged to be one of the event to put in place well-structured security measures.

Artistes’ Performances

One of the main aims of the concert was to project promising Artistes from the Western Region’s capital Sekondi-Takoradi. More than twenty-five (25) up and coming Artistes performed at the Made in Taadi Concert.

Ayesem, Nero X, Pappy Kojo, Kwaw Kese, Stonebwoy, Fiifi Selah, Donzy, Medikal, Sayvee, Snow B, Ras Ebo, Aya, Kobby Symple, Afedzi Perry, amongst other known Artistes thrilled the audience with their popular songs. Being the last to perform, Kofi Kinaata, the headliner for the concert performed for more than forty minutes and ended his performance at 4:39am.

VVIP and Obrafour who were expected at the event unfortunately could not make it. The Made in Taadi Concert team revealed that, both Artistes had to attend to emergencies that is why they couldn’t make it for the event. Even though absent, the Artistes extended their warm regard and support for the event.

MCs

Junka Town’s Too Much was the main Master of Ceremony (MC) for the Made in Taadi Concert. He was ably assisted by Hitz FM’s Dr. Pounds who is known to one of the influencers of Kinaata’s career.

Media Coverage

With ample pre, peri and post coverage from media in the Western Region and Ghana at large, the Made in Taadi Concert is arguably one of the most covered events in the Western Region. Almost every medium in the region gave it extensive coverage through Live Presenter’s Mention (LPM), playing of the event jingle, interview with Kofi Kinaata and the Public and Media Relations Officer for event, amongst others.

The Public and Media Relations department for the event led by Nana Kwesi Coomson apologized for the inability to stream the entire concert live on Facebook. “We apologize for the inability to stream the entire concert live on Facebook as planned. The network we relied on failed us that day. This is an eye opener because we had to plan for a backup support. We apologize to those who are upset about that and I take full responsibility for that.”

Amongst the popular attendees of the concert include the Metropolitan Chief Executive of Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. Anthony K.K. Sam, Public Relations Officer for Western Region’s Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Philip Osei Bonsu, Media practitioners Nkosuohene and Fiifi Adinkra of ghanadwom, Junka Town and Tangayika series crew, popular Actors and Actresses.
