Wenette Hope Foundation celebrates Christmas with inmates of KITH Mental Home

The Wenette Hope Foundation has donated items worth thousands of cedis to the KITH Mental Home in the Western Region.

The items included used clothes, uncooked rice, water, drinks, cooking oil, biscuits, candies and many others.

The donation, part of the Foundation’s annual activity was dubbed ‘Celebrating Christmas with the rejected men and women in the mental care home’.

The KITH Mental Home was specifically chosen to also celebrate its CEO Habiba Fuseini, who has been deserted by her own family due to her love for the mentally challenged and her desire to cater for them.

Special gifts were presented to Madam Fuseini to thank her for the tremendous work she is doing with the mentally challenged in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis and to encourage her to keep up the good work.

She expressed gratitude to the Wenette team for the donation.

She, however, said she was not bothered that her family had forsaken her.

“It is not my children and family who will take me to heaven. It is my deeds which will”.

Madam Fuseini appealed for help to construct a vocational center for the patients who have demonstrated great interest in all kinds of vocational ventures.

She believes that given the requisite training, they could do more for themselves.

She also appealed for medical supplies for the patients, stressing it has been a struggle to get the basic medical needs of the patients.

The Wenette Foundation hopes to return to the Home with more supplies in its next visit but is appealing for support.
