GFA schedules to start 2017/18 Premier League on Feb 11

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Monday released an ambitious calendar covering three seasons of all domestic action as well as those involving national teams.

By the calendar of 2017/2018, 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 seasons, this year’s Ghana Premier League will start on Saturday, February 11.

The first round will end on Sunday, May 6 after which there will be a fortnight’s break.

The first midweek matches will be played on Match Day 7 in March while there will be a two-week break after Match Day 8 for some FA Cup matches.

The second round is scheduled to begin within two weeks of the first round.

It will end on Sunday, August 5.

Provision has been made for national team games, mostly qualifiers.

“However, with CAF restructuring its Inter-Clubs competitions, the calendar may be updated further to accommodate such changes,” the Ghana FA said on its website.

The calendar was approved by the Executive Committee.
