It’s the month of love, the season of sharing, and who better to give to than the vulnerable and little children!

President of the Despite Group of Companies, Dr. Osei Kwame ‘Despite’, has commissioned a newly-constructed ultramodern Children’s Block at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

Dr. Osei Kwame donated the facility to the 37 Military Hospital as his birthday present to the hospital.

The commissioning of the health facility today, Friday, February 2, 2018 also happens to mark the birthday of the man affectionately called ‘Despite’.

When it comes to philanthropy and generosity, Dr. Osei Kwame has always lived beyond the mark of excellence in the hospitality industry.

Delivering a speech on behalf of Dr. Osei Kwame, the 2016 GJA Journalist of the Year and host of Peace FM’s flagship programme ‘Kokrokoo’, Kwami Sefa Kayi recounted how the Children’s block became one of the top priorities of the magnanimous business magnate.

“This Children’s Block exists today after a regular medical checkup he conducted in this hospital with Captain John Kwesi Nyamekye. Dr. Osei Kwame (Despite) after his meeting with Captain, had a conviction to bless this hospital and in this regard, asked Capt. Nyamekye what he can do to support the hospital. This dialogue resulted in the construction of this Children’s Block which the Heads of The 37 Military Hospital have named – The Osei Kwame (Despite) Children’s Block”, he said.

The project has been named “The Osei Kwame (Despite) Children’s Block” to commemorate the good work of Dr. Osei Kwame at the hospital.

During the event, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite unveiled a plaque of the facility which has a Paediatric Oncology (Cancer) Unit comprising two consulting rooms, a nurses’ reception station and office, a main ward for in-patients, a treatment area, a kitchenette, and five washrooms, a Paediatric Physiotherapy Unit which also has two consulting rooms, a furnished rehabilitation gymnasium/playroom, three washrooms, a kitchenette and a waiting area, and also included in this health edifice are two extra private wards for general Paediatric admissions.

Present at the function were 37 Military Hospital staff, friends and fraternity of the health sector, and staff of the Despite Group of Companies among others.
