C.K. Mann was a fan of Kofi Kinaata – Son reveals

“My father hardly listened to the new crop of Artistes but he once said Kinaata is good and if he becomes vigilant in life he will go far, he is very good. I can say Kinaata is the new Artiste he listened to” Paul Mann, the last child of late highlife legend C.K. Mann revealed on Extensive Chat with NKC.

Kofi Kinaata is currently a ‘Best Song writer of the year’ nominee at this year’s VGMA, a category he has won two consecutive times.

As one of the best composers Ghana has ever had, for C.K. Mann to be a fan of a new crop of Artiste means a lot and a huge endorsement for the act. “My father had good ears for music. Even on his sick bed, whenever he hears a song, he will start making corrections, saying this should have been here, that should have been there” Albert Ato Mann, another son of C.K. Mann also revealed on Extensive Chat with NKC.

C.K. Mann, founder of Carousel 7 band who is hailed as the king of ‘Osode Highlife’ died on 20th March, 2018 at the GHAPOHA Hospital in Takoradi. He suffered a mild stroke for a while before passing on this month.
