Kwadwo Asamoah not distracted by contract situation

The 29-year-old’s contract with the Old Lady runs out at the end of the season and the midfielder seems unperturbed by the uncertainty of his future

Kwadwo Asamoah has revealed that he is not distracted by his contract situation with Juventus.

The Ghana international’s contract expires at the end of the season after spending six years with the club where he won five Serie A titles, three Coppa Italia and three Super Cup titles.

Inter Milan and Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray are believed to be on the heels of the midfielder should he fail to secure a new deal at the ?Allianz Stadium.

On Wednesday night, the former Udinese player put up an eye-catching performance against Tottenham Hotspur to help Massimiliano Allegri’s men progress into the quarterfinal of the Champions League.

And the 29-year-old has revealed that he has not spoken about getting a new deal but that rather he is focused on helping the club.

“I’ve never talked about my contract,” Asamoah told Premium Sport.

“For six years I’ve been playing in this great team.

“My contract? I’m happy here in Turin, I’ve never had problems with anyone. I just want to work, I’ve never talked about my contract because I don’t want distractions.”

The midfielder who has helped Juve keep 12 clean sheets this season in his 18 appearances will be looking forward to another impressive outing when they clash with his former club Udinese in their next league game on Sunday.
