It was in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 3 when this tragic incident happened at Sekondi College junction.
The little girl and her mother had boarded the Trotro at Benedict Hospital Junction at Inchaban.
The little girl sat between the mother and the driver’s mate when the mate unexpectedly open the door upon seeing another passenger when the vehicle was still in motion.
The little girl lost balance and suddenly fell off from the vehicle and the rear tyre of the vehicle ran over the head. She died upon arrival at the Hospital. She has since been buried.

On 03/04/2018 at about 13:00 hours suspect driver Isaac Archer Donkor was in charge Nissan Urvan mini bus with registration number CR 668–09, travelling from Shama to Sekondi with ten persons on board. Upon reaching Essipong a female child named Princess Nhyira Andoh aged about two, who was seated in the vehicle between the mother and the driver’s mate closed to the passenger’s door fell from the vehicle to the the ground, when the mate opened the door for the driver to stop for a passenger to board and as result the rear tyre of the vehicle ran over her head. She sustained injuries and was rushed to St. Benedict Hospital for treatment and later referred to Effia -Nkwanta Regional Hospital for further treatment but died shortly on arrival. Body deposited at the same hospital’s mortuary awaiting autopsy. Accident vehicle impounded at the station for testing.
Suspects driver’s mate Kwaku Matthew, driver Isaac Archer Donkor and the deceased mother Gladys Asmah are assisting Police investigation.
