Microsoft builds computer lab for Betenase JHS

The centre, sited at the Betenase M/A Primary School, is to serve over 22 schools and has been equipped with 27 desktop computers and its accessories.
The Betenase M/A School in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region went viral due to their lack of an ICT laboratory. 
Their teacher, Richard Owura Kwadwo, went viral on social media after pictures of him drawing a computer on a blackboard to teach pupils surfaced.
It prompted a response from Cameroonian entrepreneur Rebecca Enochong, who asked technology giants Microsoft to help.
The help has finally arrived as Microsoft provided computers and has fully furnished the laboratory of the school.
Microsoft Africa responded, saying: “Supporting teachers to enable digital transformation in education is at the core of what we do. We will equip Owura Kwadwo with a device from one of our partners, and access to our MCE program & free professional development resources on education.microsoft.com.”
At a short ceremony to hand over the computers and other teaching and learning materials to the school, the Microsoft official in Ghana, Akuoku Asante, said supporting quality education was very dear to the hearts of the workers of Microsoft, hence the gesture.
The Ejura Sekyeredumase Municipal Director of Education, Mrs Martha Owusu Agyemang, also thanked the officials and promised to put the machines to good use and take good care of them as well.
