Dancehall act, Epixode, has said that he almost pushed music aside last year to pursue a degree in professional painting after facing financial challenges in the music industry.
The ‘Ogbooni’ hit maker revealed to Kafui Dey on GHToday Tuesday that he wanted to quit dancehall music due to the low level of appreciation of the craft in this part of the world regardless of how much effort one puts into it.
Epixode added that his new song “Dear Mama” is inspired by his thoughts of putting his frustrations into his music.
“We need to put food on our table, we are growing,” Epixode stated.
He added: “So if the family or the people surrounding you always have to see you like you’re doing music because of fun and nothing is coming home, then I think that was what I was going through.”
Epixode is on a media tour to promote his new album ‘3NITY’.
