A nursing mother has been bonded to be of good behaviour for 24 months for sending abusive and threatening messages to her boyfriend’s mother.
Nana Adwoa, 20, in default will serve a six-month prison term.
Charged with domestic violence, to wit emotional abuse and psychological abuse, Adwoa pleaded guilty.
“I sent her those messages because she told her son not to take care of our two children,” Adwoa told an Accra Circuit court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong- Adjiin Doku.
Prosecuting, Agnes Boafo told the court that on April 6, 2018, Adwoa sent some abusive and threatening messages to her boyfriend’s mother wishing her dead.
“If you are really sick like you claim, I wish you dead,” the prosecutor read to the court.
Mrs Boafo added that Adwoa also sent a threatening message to the woman saying she would die soon, and refered to her as an old wretched witch and that the woman had killed her husband.
The woman, after receiving Adwoa’s messages, went to the Nungua Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service to lodge a complaint.
Adwoa was later arrested and after investigations, she was charged with the offence accordingly.
