President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed delight in the success of his New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s flagship ‘Planting for food and jobs’ programme.
In a Christmas/New Year message, the President noted that this year has seen a bumper harvest of foodstuffs and consequent reduction in their prices, made possible by government’s policy of ‘Planting for food and jobs’.
According to him, no single grain, apart from rice, was imported this year “and we will do same for rice.”
He has urged Ghanaians to ‘join hands’ with his government ‘in building a progressive and prosperous Ghana we all want.’
President Akufo-Addo indicated that in as much as his administration has chalked a lot of successes this year, “next year promises to be a good one.
“Our achievements in office so far, even though modest, have been appreciable and visible for all to see…next year promises to be a good one. I encourage you to join hands with my government in building a progressive and prosperous Ghana we all want…I wish you all a merry Christmas and a prosperous happy new year” he said in a video posted on his Facebook page.
