Kidnapped Taadi Girls: We’ll hear good news soon – WR Police PRO

DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ghana Police Service in Western Region has assured the people of Ghana that there would be good news soon concerning the kidnapped Taadi girls.

The Police PRO who was commended by the Uncle of Ruth Quayson, one of the kidnapped girls for prompt response anytime they call on her told listeners of the Jolly Breakfast Show on Skyy Power FM (yesterday 30th January, 2019) that the security personnel have made some headway concerning the kidnapped girls but for security reasons, she cannot reveal them on air.

“For security reasons I cannot reveal everything here but we will hear good news about the kidnapped girls soon” DSP Adiku’s answer to the Host Samuel Kojo Brace’s question about the latest they have gathered.

She also warned the general public and the media to desist from spreading false kidnapping stories. ”There are always rumours on social media especially about kidnapping cases. Last week a woman reported a kidnap case at Kwesimintsim. Upon our investigations, we found out that the daughter of the woman had some misunderstanding with her parents and decided to leave to Accra without their notice. Another lady also visited her boyfriend and decided to sleep over without informing her parents and it was also reported as kidnap. Even in the law, missing cases are reported after 24 hours search. Let’s not create unnecessary tension and increasing the sense of insecurity in the region” DSP Adiku said.

Meanwhile traditional and social media campaign with the hashtag #BringBackOurTaadiGirls is heightening.
