Christiansborg crossroads shooting anniversary marked

The Veterans Association of Ghana (VAG) have marked the 71st anniversary of the Christiansborg crossroad shooting.

The ceremony involved a simulated re-enactment of what took place on February 28, 1948. In attendance was Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

Three narmed ex-servicemen – Sergeant Adjetey, Corporal Attipoe, Private Odartey Lamptey – were marching to the seat of government – Christianborg Castle – to present a petition to the then governor of Gold Coast, Sir Gerald Creasy, when they were shot at and killed by the police.
