Exactly a year today, Philip Osei Bonsu sat on the enviable seat as host of Ghana’s leading late afternoon political show on Asempa FM, Ekosii Sen.
Affectionately called OB by listeners, the Tullow Scholar and Mandela Washington Fellow stepped into the heavy shoes left behind by Kojo Asare Baffuor Acheampong (KABA) who passed a few months before the lot fell on him as successor.
Hailed as one of Ghana’s best brains in media, OB took to Facebook to share his feeling on the one-year journey, saying:
Even though a year on the show, OB has owned the late afternoon social and political programme as if the radio programme was planned with him in mind.
As if most Ghanaians are given their daily afternoon menu on air via Asempa FM, all radio sets are tuned to Asempa FM and its affiliates to have their balanced diet of social and political issues as well as deep insights into issues.
OB has Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre Arts and Linguistics from the University of Ghana, MSc Corporate Communications from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, UK and postgraduate certificate from the University of San Diego in USA.
Before joining The Multimedia Group as the host of Ekosii Sen, OB was the Public Relations Officer for Electricity Company of Ghana, Western Region Branch.
