Ghanaian Hip-life musician, Okyeame Kwame has expressed his disappointment with government’s decision to consider French as a second language for Ghana.
According to the “rap dacta”, it would be disrespectful to our culture.
“French as a second language is disrespectful to our pride and culture, it is bad enough that our first language is another person’s language. What is wrong with making one of our local languages our first language,” he posted on Twitter.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, at the opening session of the 2019 La Francophone Week in Accra, made mention that Ghana is considering choosing French as its second language.
