NSS releases 85,669 PIN codes for prospective service personnel

Eighty-five thousand, six hundred and sixty-nine Personal Identification Number (PIN) codes have been released for prospective National Service personnel.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    In a press release issued by the Executive Director of National Service Secretariat (NSS), Mustapha Ussif, it indicated that the PIN codes are meant for eligible Ghanaian final year students from all accredited tertiary institutions.

“This is to enable them enrol to do their mandatory national service for the 2019/2020 service year,” the statement added.
All prospective service personnel, the release further said, are requested to visit the scheme’s website, www.nss.gov.gh, to access their PIN codes, noting that students should input their index numbers into the website.
It mentioned that all students are required to pay an amount of ?40 at any branch of Agricultural Development Bank or ?41 through MTN Mobile Money to activate their enrolment process.      
Prospective service personnel are to complete their enrolment process before Friday, May 31, 2019.
Ghanaian students who graduate from accredited tertiary institutions are required under law to do a one-year national service to the country. 
Persons who fail to do their national service are ineligible for appointment to any public office in the land.   
The National Service Secretariat is the Government of Ghana agency mandated to formulate policies and structures for national service.
