VGMA chaos is Shatta Wale’s fault – Kwame Sefa Kayi

It was all excitement at the beginning when Livingstone Etse Satekla aka Stonebwoy was mentioned as the Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the year at the just ended 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2019.

However, this excitement was nearly marred when he pulled a gun following a free-for-all fight that ensued after Charles Nii Armah, known in showbiz circles as Shatta Wale, together with some a posse of his SM followers, also walked onto the stage while Stonebwoy was being presented with his award.

Thereupon, Blakk Cedi, the manager of Stonebwoy, stepped forward to prevent their rivals from coming close, a move which turned into an exchange of some blows, until the police and military stepped in to save the situation.

A section of the public is blaming Stonebwoy for pulling the gun.

Renowned journalist and host of Peace FM‘s morning show ‘Kokrokoo‘, Kwami Sefa Kayi who compèred the event with Berla Mundi, said the “blame should be laid at the doorsteps” of the ‘My Level’ hitmaker, considering the fact that the two, over the years, have hardly seen eye to eye.

According to him, even though it was “wrong for Stonebwoy to have brandished a weapon and should be dealt with appropriately, Shatta Wale had no business going on stage”.
