Asempa FM’s late afternoon political programme ‘Eko Sii Sen’ with Philip Osei Bonsu has been adjudged Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) Radio Programme of the Year 2018.
The award is in recognition of the radio programme’s practice of following socio-political issues that would have otherwise died a premature death to their logical conclusion.
‘Eko Sii Sen,’ to wit, ‘How did it end,’ has been described by its ardent listeners as the reference point for current affairs and political news in Ghana.
The host of the show, Philip Osei Bonsu who is just a year old as a Host on the programme together with his Production team were present to receive the award.
In an appreciation post on social media, Philip Osei Bonsu, a Tullow Scholar and Mandela Washington Fellow recognized the work of his predecessors and added (unedited);
We just took home the Prestigious Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana – CIMG Radio Program of the Year at the 30th National Marketing Performance Awards.
I am privileged to work with an amazing production team. They deserve this honor even more than I do.
I dedicate this award to the real heroes. Those who came before me. Let’s face it, but for the solid foundation laid by Ken Addy, Kwabena Bobbie Ansah and the legendary Kojo Asare Baffuor Acheampong(KABA), this feat wouldn’t have been possible. We owe these media giants a lot of gratitude.
We dedicate this award to the memory of the late KABA.
The show airs on Asempa 94.7 FM from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm every weekday.
