The Takoradi District Police Commander, Supt. Emmanuel Amoah, had a shock of his life on Saturday when thieves broke into his office at the Takoradi Central Police.

According to reports, the thieves managed to remove the louvre blades to enter his office and made away with his laptop and a flat-screen television and an undisclosed amount of money.

It will be recalled that the Central police station was where the Nigerian kidnapper standing trial at the Sekondi High court escaped from police custody under surreptitious circumstances.

When Empire News’ Emmanuel Ohene Gyan visited the District Police Commander to corroborate the story, loose cables believed to have been connected to the stolen tv were seen hanging. Another source revealed further that since the incident, armed police guards are put on duty at the place.

Meanwhile, the Kaneshie District court presided over by Mrs Roesemond Douduwa Agyire has remanded the seven accused persons in the murder of the two cops at Kasoa into police custody.

Sergeant Michael Gyamasi and Lance Corporal Awal Mohammed – attached to the Kasoa police station were killed by suspected armed robbers on Wednesday during routine checks on the Accra – Winneba highway.

While Eric Kojo Duah, the main suspect, Amissah Isaac and Zakariah Ibrahim were remanded into BNI custody, the rest Mensah Isaac, Oblitey Commey, Victor Yire and Fatau Ahmed have been detained at the police cells at Osu.

The case has been adjourned to September 26, 2019.

Duah was arrested onboard black Golf no. GW 5972 — 18 with a plaster on his left side of his face heading towards the Volta region.

He was arrested upon a tipoff by a police officer on duty at Atimpoku bridge in the Eastern Region.
