The management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has parted ways with Norwegian coach Kjetil Zachariassen.
The agreement was reached at an official meeting with the club Tuesday evening.
It is quite unclear what the reason for his sack is but sources say the exit from the CAF Confederation Cup at the hands of San Pedro of Ivory Coast dealt the coach a major blow.
Zachariassen has become a major topic of discussion in the past days when he went missing after the San Pedro game a week ago.
The club cited security concerns in Kumasi as the major reason why the coach could not return.
But the coach returned to his position last weekend and oversaw training earlier Tuesday.
One of the Norwegian’s biggest flaws at Kotoko was the acquisition of Musa Adingra whose contract was terminated days after he was signed for not being good enough.
This will be the second coach to be sacked from Kotoko in five months after Charles Kwabla Akunnor was sacked late July.
