VIDEO: Pitch invader Awal enjoys ‘victory ride’ after release on bail

After spawning the trending #FreeAwal hashtag on social media and pleas on his behalf by many Ghanaians including Black Stars captain Andre Ayew and General Captain Asamoah Gyan, Awal Suleman the infamous pitch invader was granted bail on Saturday after two days in Police custody.

It will be recalled that Awal raced onto the pitch on Thursday night during Ghana’s 2-0 victory over South Africa in an AFCON 2021 qualifier.

Although he was cheered wildly by the thousands at the Cape Coast Stadium, the security officers present at the venue were not impressed.

As a result, the nursing student spent two days behind bars at the University of Cape Coast Police Station.

He was released on bail on Saturday following an intervention by Ghana Football Association Executives in the region.

However, the man who showed a clean pair of heels last Thursday did not make a quiet exit from the Police station.
