WR NPP Primaries vetting results – Disqualified candidates and 5 candidates who are going unopposed

Credible information gathered by www.233times.net shows that not all the candidates who were vetted for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Primaries sailed through to contest the April 2020 elections.

Even though the results are yet to be made public, deep throat reveals to www.233times.net that five incumbent Members of Parliament (MPs) will be going unopposed. The MPs who are also incumbent MPs of Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Prestea-Huni Valley, Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira, Essikado-Ketan and Sekondi will go unopposed.

On the other hand, Edna Nyame will face incumbent who also doubles as Western Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Kobby Okyere Darko-Mensah for the Takoradi Constituency seat. According to a reliable source, Fred Kakraba Sam, a former Lecturer at the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) who picked forms to contest for the Takoradi Constituency seat did not go through. During the primaries, he was hit with alleged fraud, assault and other disturbing petitions. Bernard Oduro Nyarko, a Freight Forwarder Agent according to information available to www.233times.net has also been kicked out of the Takoradi Constituency primaries. He also faced the vetting committee and had questions to answer from petitions on alleged false pretence and misrepresentation.

Kwesimintsim Constituency which will be an interesting place to keep a keen eye on will have incumbent Joe Mensah battling the the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) boss, Dr. Prince Armah. Even though there are rumours that Dr. Armah has been disqualified, www.233times.net can authoritatively state that, the NaCCA boss has sailed through smoothly. Petitions against him did not fly during the vetting.

Incumbent MP for Effia, Joseph Cudjoe will have a Lecturer at TTU, Dr. Adwoa Kwegyirba to wrestle with. Political observers forecast a tough contest in that constituency and a place to have recorders and cameras stationed at.

Former DCE of Ahanta West, Kwesi Biney will face incumbent MP, Lawyer Kojo Kum for the Ahanta West seat. If there is any constituency primaries whose contest will attract more media attention, it will be Ahanta West.

At Mpohor, John Abbam Aboah Sanie is facing the incumbent Alex Agyekum for the seat.

At Shama, Lawyer Abekah is folding up his sleeves to contest incumbent Ato Pandford.
