COVID-19: Western Region records 61 confirmed cases with 8 health workers infected (With chart of district case counts)

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Western Region of Ghana is now 61, including some eight health workers, the Regional Health Directorate has revealed.

The Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis and Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assemblies have been identified as the epicenters with 19 positive cases each. The Ahanta West has 6 confirmed cases whereas Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal has 4 confirmed cases.

Total recoveries in the region is one with one death, a nurse at the GMC Hospital in Nsuta, of the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality.
