Ghana hasn’t received Madagascar herbal cure – Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

Ghana’s Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has refuted media publications that suggested that government has received consignment of the herbal cure; ‘COVID Organics’ which is being produced by Madagascar. In his media briefing this morning, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah intimated that government has not received any supplies of the supposed COVID-19 cure from Madagascar. He indicated that communications taken so far on the subject has to do with a proposition by the Madagascar government to avail this COVID Organics for use in Ghana to help manage COVID-19 cases.

“Madagascar has reached out to use with their supposed cure, and that we will test it through FDA and Center for Plant Medicine before making a decision. The brief as I have is that, we have not received this supposed cure from Madagascar” he explained.

Hon. Oppong Nkrumah reiterated that all proposed cure both locally and international will be subjected to testing and evaluation by the Center for Plant Medicine and Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), the results from which will inform government decision to adopt its usage in curing or treating COVID-19 patients.

“We have also received some offers, local Ghanaians who say they have some preparations they believe can cure COVID-19. The Center for Plant Medicine and the FDA standby testing whatever supposed cures are available. After those test have been done, a decision can be made buy clinicians” he stated.
