DJ Gomez to give exposure to next generation of Rappers from Western Region with ‘Rap City’

A renowned Disc Jockey (DJ) with Goodnews FM in Takoradi, DJ Gomez aims to give exposure to the next generation of Rappers from Western Region with his newly introduced weekly ‘Rap City’ radio programme.

‘Rap City’ which airs on Goodnews FM on Fridays from 9pm to 11pm has attracted the attention of rap lovers who show approval for the programme on social media and via the calls and text messages to the show whenever he is on air.

Social media users have been active in sharing snippets of the show on social media and commend DJ Gomez for how he engages the Rappers on his programme.

Real name Augustine Yankum, DJ Gomez has over 7 years’ of experience in DJing and is noted for his immense contribution to the careers of Castro, Nhyiraba Kojo and the new generation of Artistes from Western Region.

“As a DJ, I think of the next generation of Artistes from the Region. Aside Kofi Kinaata and the other known names in Ghana who are from the region, who are the next generation of Artistes who will also come to the scene from Western Region? This question compelled me to come up with the ‘Rap City’ show to help give maximum exposure to all Artistes and most especially the up and coming” DJ Gomez revealed the aim behind the well listened to ‘Rap City.’

Already, he has hosted Chichiz of TV3 Mentor Reloaded fame, Yaw Lucaz, a receiver of Best Rapper at the Western Music Awards and plans to host other Rappers from the Western Region.
