A New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Kwesimintsim Constituency who doubles as the boss of National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), Dr Prince Hamid Armah has launched a novel idea, the Dr Armah Kwesimintsim Delegates’ Life Insurance Scheme.
The insurance scheme will provide insurance cover for over 361 polling station executives and electoral area coordinators of the Kwesimintsim Constituency.
In an interview with www.233times.net, Dr Armah said that he has deep understanding of the risks faced by party grassroots officials, who form the core of the party and without whose efforts the party would cease to exist, hence the need to make sure that their lives are insured in their line of work.
As a former activist, Dr. Armah added that he was keen to see the policy institutionlalised in the constituency and emulated around the country to protect the party’s grassroots activists.
The Dr Armah Kwesimintsim Delegates’ Life Insurance Scheme is underwritten by Enterprise Life for the polling station and electoral area executives and their immediate families for one year.
Various polling station executives and electoral area coordinators of the Kwesimintsim Constituency have taken to social and traditional media to express their gratitude to ‘Fresh Prince’ (nicknamed by the constituency) for this novel initiative.
The primaries of the NPP is in 13 days time where Dr. Armah will face incumbent Member of Parliament Joe Mensah.
