Running mate: It’s Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang for John Mahama (All the inside information)

www.233times.net is reliably informed that the flagbearer for National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has finally settled on former Education Minister, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate for the 2020 elections.

Mahama’s choice has provoked the rank and file of the party who were rooting for former Finance Minister, Dr Kwabena Duffuor

“President Mahama is steadfast of his choice of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang. Nothing can change his mind as he has been resisting those in his party who have described his choice of the former Education Minister as a ‘non starter’” a deep throat told www.233times.net.

At a hurriedly arranged meeting, the Regional Chairmen of the NDC met in Accra yesterday to convince Mahama to reconsider his decision but www.233times.net is told that John Mahama told them that “this is my choice!”

Sources close to the flagbearer indicate that the Ahwoi Brothers and Totobi Kwakye, colossi in the party are in full support of Mahama’s choice. “They (Ahwoi Brothers and Totobi Kwakye) are even part of those who brought up Prof. Jane’s name,” the source told www.233times.net.

Amongst bigwigs in NDC who have resisted Mahama’s choice are National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the source told www.233times.net.

“The Regional Chairmen met President Mahama and made him aware that his choice will make the ticket difficult to sell to Ghanaians but Mahama still insists that he will go with Prof Opoku Agyemang. Some even challenge that Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemang was not a known card bearing member of the party” the source further revealed.
