Multiple award winning Artiste, Kofi Kinaata on Friday 11th September, 2020 paid homage to the Omanhene of Essikado, Nana Kobina Nketia V at his palace at Essikado in the Western Region.

In addition to his visit to the Essikado Omanhene, Kofi Kinaata also presented his awards at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards to Nana Kobina Nketia.

At the 2020 awards, Kofi Kinaata won the Highlife Song of the year, Most Popular Song of the year and Songwriter of the year, making him the Artiste to have won the highest number of awards.

“I have been to the palace once and I received a lot of counsel from Nana. I don’t think I even exhausted the countless number of wise counsel I received from Nana. This visit is to bring the results of the counsel from Nana at the beginning of my career. So I am here to show the awards I won at the just ended VGMA to Nana” Kofi Kinaata revealed the purpose of his visit to the palace.

Nana Kobina Nketia who could not hide his pride in seeing how far Kofi Kinaata is going in music mentioned that Kofi Kinaata’s songs are the music he listens to from any contemporary Artiste and added that Kofi Kinaata has made the region proud.

“Amongst the pictures at the Bisa Abrewa museum, you are the youngest person there. You’ve left a mark that is remarkable that’s why your picture is there.”

“These Awards are not for you alone. It’s for all of us in Western Region. We are very happy and proud of you. May God bless you and continue to bless you now and forever.”

In attendance were elders of Essikado and well wishers.
