Ga-Dangme Muslim Council crowns GMB queen Naa Dev’t Queen

Ghana’s Most Beautiful‘s reigning queen Naa Dedei Botchwey, known by stage name Naa, has been crowned the development queen for the Ga-Dangme Muslim Council.

At the opening ceremony of the Apollonia Development Office, the leadership of the Council said the Greater Accra representative for GMB 2020 has portrayed true qualities of a Ga-Dangme woman and deserves to lead them in terms of development.

Naa won the Star Performer three times on her way to annexing the crown.

She expressed gratitude to the Council for believing in her and supporting her projects.

“I feel deeply honoured that all of Ga-Dangme is so invested in my queenship. This is a Muslim group but they looked beyond religion because they believe I have something good to offer.

“We are one people so what matters is our common goal for development. Happy to work with them.

“They have pledged to support my project so I will present them with a proposal for funding and how I will go about my development work so that they give me the resources I’ll need.”

She is expected to launch her project in January.

“But before the launch, I will do sub-projects: AskNaa is the initial one. Several young people have reached out to me to mentor them so I will create opportunities to meet and speak with them under the AskNaa [initiative].

“I will work with the traditional authorities to reach school going children in the Ga-Dangme communities.”
