Mr Mahama said in Obuasi where he was campaigning ahead of the December 7 elections on Thursday November 12 that the suspension is to enable him and the party mourn the Founder of the NDC.
“I Just spoke with the campaign committee and we have decided to suspend the campaign for a little while,” he said.
“We will be returning to Accra.”
Mr Rawlings died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after suffering a short illness on Thursday November 12.
