Be active participants in building the Ghana we want – Prez. Akufo-Addo to Ghanaians

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has delivered his acceptance speech as President of Ghana, calling on Ghanaians to be active participants in building the Ghana everyone desire.

Mr Akufo-Addo was sworn-in on Thursday, January 7, 2021, to begin his second and final term of Office as President of Ghana.

In his address, he highlighted the achievements of his past government over the last four years from 2017 to 2021.

He said the Ghanaian economy continue to show resilience despite the Coronavirus pandemic.

According to him, roads in Ghana are being constructed at a much faster pace than ever before.

He stated that this year again will be the year of roads.

The President highlighted his drive to deliver on his mandate and to return the Ghanaian economy onto the path of growth amid the Coronavirus challenges.

The unity and stability of the country will be protected to ensure economic development and growth, according to him.

He said the 15 percent of communities across the country without electricity will be connected by the end of his second term.

According to him, his government has already started constructing hospitals in districts without hospitals.

He urged Ghanaians to remain united and to work towards leaving behind legacies of achievements to their children.

He expressed his warm congratulations to the new Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.

He noted that together, he and Mr Bagbin will be charting new territories.

He expressed confidence about the two of them working together in the interest of the Ghanaian people, pledging to ensure to work with him in a manner that ensures peace and advancement of Ghana’s democracy.

Mr Akufo-Addo also thanked the Ghanaian “who by emphatic margin” restored his mandate.

He was also grateful to God for his political successes.
