We need to keep pushing into the minds of women that they’re capable – Yaa Amoako-Adu

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Intergrity Logistics, Yaa Amoako Adu has mentioned that it is her wish to see women rub shoulders with men.

Stating her reasons for this statement she said, “I don’t know why, but I feel we can do it. It’s just that we need to be encouraged and that can be achieved. That’s all”.

In an interview with Chelsy Sey on Y 97.9 FM’s Ryse N Shyne Show, she said, “There are some words we always need to keep pushing into the minds of women. We need to let them know that they can do it and that is what I’m doing”.

Being an advocate of Feminism, Yaa believes women are capable of doing everything men are known for. And that is a reason she chose to work in the oil and gas industry, despite the many challenges and complications that come with it. And she encourages more women to venture into that field.

“Currently I have my HR being a lady, Logistics and Procurement Managers both being ladies. I also recruited a lady from the Polytechnic, specifically the Mechanical Engineering Department called Araba Vanderpuye to work with our technical team. But that contract we were working on has halted. She’s home at the moment so I am praying we get it back so we invite her back”.

Mentioning some of her achievements she said, “I won the youngest achievers award in oil and gas and I also won another one which is the 40 under 40 in oil and gas”.

Her aim is to encourage more women to join the oil and gas industry and also help them challenge themselves to attain the same heights as men in the industry.
