Kofi Kinaata shares his long kept secret for winning ‘Songwriter of the year’ at VGMA

The fourth time winner of ‘Songwriter of the year,’ MartinKingArthur, professionally known as Kofi Kinaata has shared his long kept strategy for winning the category at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

Known to be a deep thinker who translates it on beats, Kofi Kinaata revealed that, he does not follow music trends or the latest genre.

Speaking to Journalists at the venue last Saturday after winning the keenly contested category, Kofi Kinaata further added that, his main aim of educating, entertaining and informing his fans supersedes the urge to join the bandwagon. “I don’t follow trends, I rather want to educate, entertain and inform the fans” Kofi Kinaata said.

He also mentioned that even though he is not a person who is doing music for awards, giving his fans the bragging right by the awards he wins also guides him to be interested in it.

In other interviews, nicknamed Philosopher, Kofi Kinaata revealed that, he puts himself in the shoes of listeners of his music and ask himself if he would have listened to the song if it were to be another Composer? This guides him on the themes he chooses to write on.

In 2016, Kofi Kinaata won the Songwriter of the year with ‘Susuka,’ in 2017, with ‘Confession,’ in 2020 with ‘Things fall Apart’ and in 2021, with ‘Behind the Scenes’ making him the first Ghanaian Artiste to win the category more than two times.
