‘Songwriter of the year’ category is a must win for me – Kofi Kinaata

Real name Martin KingArthur, multiple award winning Artiste Kofi Kinaata is confident of winning for the fourth time the ‘Songwriter of the year’ category at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards slated for 26th June.

Holding the record as the Artiste who has won the ‘Songwriter of the year’ category for three times, it appears Kofi Kinaata is interested in that category than the other three categories he’s been nominated in.

Speaking to MzGee on TV3’s ‘New Day’ morning show on 23rd June, Kofi Kinaata confidently said “the Songwriter of the year for the fourth time has already been bagged.”

Arguing why ‘Behind the Scenes’ deserves to win the competitive category, Kofi Kinaata posited that “the song (Behind the scenes) was used by Pastors to preach, people in Ghana and out of Ghana relate well with the song and it is doing very well too.”

Aside the ‘Songwriter of the year category,’ Kofi Kinaata has been nominated in ‘Best Highlife Artiste,’ ‘Best Highlife Song’ and ‘International Collaboration of the year’ categories.

Kofi Kinaata is also eyeing the ‘Music for Good’ category which was later added to the categories.

Voting for the Philosopher Kofi Kinaata to win the Best Highlife Artiste of the year is by sending ‘D3’ to Vodafone short code ‘1767’ and ‘Best Highlife of the year’ is via ‘M4’ to Vodafone short code ‘1767.’
