Old Students of Senior High Schools (SHS) in Ghana are required to embark on a legacy project, as a cohort, 25 years after completing the school.
One of such schools with such requirement is the all-girls Senior High School in Cape Coast, Holy Child Senior High School.

As a legacy project, the 1996 year group identified the lower school block of their Alma matter as a building that needs a facelift.

Philanthropist and Chief Executive Officer of Integrity Logistics, Miss Yaa Amoako-Adu who is known for her passion for girl child education joined the Old Students of Holy Child, known as Hopsans for the project.
Even though she is not an Old Student of Holy Child, Miss Amoako-Adu reveals that “my passion for girl child education inspired me to be part of this laudable project. As an all-girls school, we know how much Holy Child has contributed to Ghana’s education so it is prudent to contribute my quota to give the ladies, the future leaders a befitting place to study.”

The winner of ‘Young Achiever’ at the Ghana Oil and Gas Awards Miss Amoako-Adu who is also the President and Visioneer of Virtuous Board Room, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that is into women empowerment said the contribution to the Hopsa ’96 legacy project is an extension of the support of her NGO.
Miss Amoako-Adu who was mentioned in the 75th anniversary newsletter of Hopsans as ‘Friend of Hopsa’ was mentioned as a sponsor of GHc30,000 for the renovation of the classrooms which were in a deplorable state.
The legacy project of HOPSA ’96 which was also the 25th anniversary of the year group was on the theme, “Providing a stimulating learning environment for the girl child in the 21st Century.”
