Hiplife Artiste, Abrewa Nana has spoken for the first time since social and traditional media called for her head for allegedly misinforming the public in an interview on Joy FM that she was standing next to the dead body of Castro when the incident happened seven years ago.
Speaking to The Chronicle, Abrewa Nana said “I never said I was standing next to the body. I didn’t also create the impression that I was there and standing next to him (Castro).”
“When I said a body was out and everyone has been asked to go off shore, I never confirmed the body to be that of Castro, but presumably that was what everyone present thought, till an expect confirmed that it was not him. And Asamoah Gyan confirmed that too and even added that search team were still searching and information has been sent to other sea shores and the entire area to look out for any possible signs and inform the Police, Chief, or any elder if they had or heard any information about the matter. This is what I reported. I even said I had a single recorded with him and was meant to be released the next month of that year and couldn’t afford to looe such a talented friend who was loved well in Ghana and beyond. That was it” Abrewa Nana told The Chronicle.
“I met Castro in 2003 through a family of mine who lives in Norway. Because we were both Musicians, we got closer and hanged out often talking about everything music and others. About the said time of Castro’s disappearance, my family were in Ghana together with others friends who were also on holiday from abroad. A road trip was planned but I had studio sessions and other engagements so I couldn’t be part of that particular trip”
“I kept calling, they also kept informing me of the fun II was missing via text, calls n prove of photos, till I was informed about the unfortunate said incident concerning Castro” Abrewa Nana added.
In remembering Castro on 7th July, 2021 which marked exactly seven years he mysteriously disappeared which legally gives the state the impetus to declare him dead according to the Evidence Act, 1975 (N.R.C.D. 323), social media users remembered an interview Abrewa Nana granted Accra based Joy FM.
According to social media users, Abrewa Nana, real name Dorcas Opoku Dakwa should be invited by the Police for interrogation.
