Takoradi: PTC Interchange labourers put down tools over GHc19 daily wage

Labourers working on the PTC Interchange in Takoradi are unhappy with the daily wage of GHc19.
According to the labourers who pleaded anonymity, they are woefully paid as compared to their colleagues who work on similar interchanges in Accra and other parts of Ghana.
Information reaching www.233times.net is that the labourers are currently agitating at Funko, where they converge daily and have refused to go to their construction site, PTC roundabout. “The Human Resource Manager has asked the labourers to select 5 of them to meet the Chinese Contractor for deliberations” www.233times.net is reliably informed.
According to the labourers, they are considering demonstrating against the daily wage if they do not arrive at a favourable conclusion.
www.233times.net checks reveal that the labourers are paid a daily wage of GHc19 during weekdays and GHc40 on Sundays.
