Latest Superman character is bisexual

Producers of Superman, DC Comics have announced that its latest Superman character, Jon Kent, will be a bisexual.

Due for release in November, Producers say Jon will be in a same-sex relationship with his friend Jay Nakamura.

In an earlier Superman story, Jon started a friendship with Jay, a bespectacled, pink-haired reporter. That relationship will get more intimate in the latest Superman story, Producers reveal.

DC Comics said the pair will become romantically involved in the upcoming fifth issue, after Jon “mentally and physically burns out from trying to save everyone that he can”.

Jon takes on the mantle of Superman from his father, Clark Kent in ‘Superman: Son of Kal-El.’

DC Comics made the announcement on National Coming Out Day, an annual LGBT awareness day started in the US.

Since the Superman series started in July, Jon has been fighting wildfires caused by climate change, scuppered a high school shooting and protested against the deportation of refugees, with the latest being a bisexual.
