As part of efforts to kick the dreaded breast cancer out of Sekondi-Takoradi, Nana Care and Health Solutions in collaboration with Richard Addison Foundation, two not-for-profit organisations are embarking on free breast cancer screening and education in the Metropolis.
The screening is targeted at three suburbs of the oil capital of Ghana, namely New Takoradi, Amanful and Takoradi Market. Spanning from October 16 to October 30, Nana Car and Health Solutions has so far screened and educated residents of New Takoradi with the other two yet to be benefit from the benevolence of the organisation.
“The month of October has been dedicated to breast cancer awareness and we at Nana Care and Health Solutions in partnership with Richard Addison Foundation are dedicated to screening and educating the females most especially and men too about the dreaded breast cancer” Ruben Nana Mbra, CEO of the organisation told www.233times.net.
“This is the second time that we are embarking on this and we are committed to this. We are targeting the New Takoradi, Amanful and the new Market around the Ahenfie hotel because these are populated places in the Metropolis and we want to take the screening and education to their doorsteps in order to prevent people from making the excuse that distance was the barrier for them not to access our services” Mr. Mbra added.
According to the organisers, there would also be Hepatitis B as well as checking of vital signs for unusual growth in the body.
