Okatakyie Amankwah Afrifa spells out vision as he vies for WR NPP General Secretary

“The Western Region has a critical role to play, but we need to work hard to achieve that success and I am ready to sacrifice to achieve that feat which can be done” Okatakyie Amankwah Afrifa declared at the launch of OKT4WRSec campaign and media engagement at Essikado on Tuesday.

Mr. Amankwah Afrifa who is currently the Western Regional Director of National Service Scheme (NSS) and contesting for the General Secretary for the third time said “My values and experiences over the years, have taught me never to give up in spite of challenges and sometimes what come across as failure, and that is why I am presenting myself for the third consecutive time to serve in this same portfolio. I hope and believe that the God of all creation will grant us success this time.”

A former Communications Director for the Western Region New Patriotic Party (NPP), OKT as he is affectionately called classified the duties of the Regional Secretary as enshrined in the NPP Constitution under three thematic areas namely administration, welfare and coordination.

He has further segmented his campaign manifesto into four broad categories; Efficient and effective management and administration, an improved government and Party collaboration that will energize and motivate the rank and file of the Party to work and retain power, establishment of a comprehensive and beneficial welfare policy and good communication within the Party structures in the Region (Touch base with grassroots).

Confident of winning the position, Mr. Amankwah Afrifa who is the son of Lt. General Akwasi Afrifa, former Head of State and Leader of the National Liberation Council (NLC) intimated that his slogan ‘God’s time’ is not just a mere campaign sloganeering to win election but a call to action with the ultimate aim of breaking the eight as the NPP is targeting.

“‘TimeAso,’ like the sand in the hourglass, it bids it time to drop to the base, the OKT brand has taken time to study the dynamics of Western Region politics and has developed a personal capacity to steer the affairs to help BreakThe8 and I am calling on you all to support and propagate this agenda.”

“NyameMberNyi is a recognition that, God offers all humans an opportunity to make impact at His own appointed time, if only we will wait and be patient enough. For me, I have waited, learnt and prayed to God, and ready to deliver given the chance” OKT concluded.
