WR Minister commissions 2 projects at Adiembra SHS and Diabene SHS

The Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has commissioned two projects at the Adiembrah Senior High School in Sekondi and Diabene Senior High School as part of the government’s commitment to face out the double-track system in the various Senior High Schools in the country with the introduction of the Free SHS policy.

The western region had about 65 structures in the senior high schools but the government decided to build more structures in the schools to complement the free Senior High School policy as a measure to face off the double-track system.

According to the project manager, Mr Charles Loco who is supervising the Western Region GETFound emergency projects for Tedel Limited, some schools had dormitory blocks, others had classroom blocks while others had dining halls.

At the Adimbrah Senior High School, the western regional minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah in the company of the Western Regional Education Director and Metro Education Director commissioned to a two-store 360-bed capacity girls dormitory block whiles at Diabene Senior High School, a 6 unit classroom block was handed over the school authorities for use.

The headmaster for Adimbrah Senior High School William Kweku Takyie and his colleague Rev. Elijah Donkor who heads Diabene expressed their satisfaction to the work done so far.

Though the Regional Director of Education, expressed worry about the proverbial Ghanaian maintenance culture, she is optimistic that the project will be well maintained for the generations yet to come.
