Some school Children on board the bus who sustained minor injuries were treated at the Anaji Health Center and were later sent to the Kwesimintsim Hospital for further examination.

An eyewitness who spoke to Skyy News on the incident said, the tipper truck driver lost control when his break failed and he had no option but to run into the bus that was ahead of him.

The traffic lights were not functioning at that time and according to the eye witnes that may partly be the cause of the accident.

She said, “The traffic is not working so after the school bus made a curve towards the main road, there was a taxi beside it which was making it difficult for the bus to fully be in the lane.”

“The tipper truck from afar started to blow its horn looking at the situation of the taxi and the bus, the truck couldn’t stop and crashed into the bus… I think it was because of brake failure from the side of the
truck looking at the situation.”

The witness indicated about 6 of the children got minor injuries as some were bleeding from the nose and different parts of their body.
